Navigating Facilitator Anxiety Workshop with Nkem – July 17 | 9 AM PT

This interactive session explores the embodied experience of practitioner anxiety within the context of somatic practice and care work. We’ll examine how internal dynamics—such as nervous system activation, perfectionism, and over-responsibility—intersect with external factors, including professional role expectations and structural power hierarchies. Through a combination of reflection, small group dialogue, and embodied practice, participants will investigate the roots of their own practitioner anxiety and develop strategies to better navigate with increased self-awareness, self-compassion, and relational integrity.

Learning Objectives:

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Identify common sources of practitioner anxiety, including neurobiological responses, internalized expectations, and structural power dynamics.
2. Map their own embodied experiences of practitioner anxiety using somatic and written practices.
3. Analyze how cultural forces and systemic power hierarchies shape practitioner roles, expectations, and nervous system responses.
4. Apply trauma-informed and embodied regulation practices to navigate practitioner anxiety with increased self-awareness, self-compassion, and relational integrity.
